Serving the Greater Community
Resilient is an organization committed to serving the underserved youth in DuPage and soon Cook Counties. Our Family Dinner strives to reach families with young children to give them an opportunity to rise above food insecurity and to sit down and enjoy a meal together.
We are also committed to meeting actual needs of the community - not just what we think the needs are. We openly welcome and request feedback for how we can grow our program to truly help the community become resilient and self-sufficient.
Thursday Night Family Dinner
Our Family Dinner is a monthly free meal provided for families and members of the community who may struggle with food insecurity. Our meal provides hot and healthy food, a safe, comforting, and inviting space where guests feel welcome and dignified, and speakers/activities that address specific needs in the community. All of this is done while providing resources for those needs, which include but are not limited to housing assistance, financial literacy, health/nutrition and wellness, and parenting assistance. We want our guests to retain dignity while receiving these resources with the ultimate goal of them never needing our services again.
Let’s break bread together.
Our Family Dinner partners with the Salvation Army of Oakbrook Terrace and is hosted at their facilities, in the gymnasium.
